T550 WLan, Intel Wireless-N 7265, 5GHz is not working.

2018-12-07, 2:24 AM

Hi!

Computer: Lenovo ThinkPad T550 with Windows 10 Pro SP 1

Wlan Card: Intel Wireless- N7265, Model: 7265NGW BN

FFC id: PD97265NGU-IC1000M-7265NG

Problem: The WiFi card cannot handle 5 GHz networks and Wireless Mode can only be set to 802.11b/g not 802.11a/b/g, because that option doesn't exist.

Is it a cheap crap card that doesn't have the 5 GHz feature or is it a Windows 10 issue?

I've visiting several forums, but haven't been able to find any solution.

I'm very thankful to receive any replies!

Thanks and best regards – Jorgen.

Welcome to the Community

Your wifi card features single band 2.4 GHz only.
Compare with dual band cards

To get dual band support you should replace the card.

Thank you for your reply!

Yeah I thought so too, but the idiot that sold me the computer insisted on that it was a AC card.

Best regards - Jorgen.
