T560 not detecting 5GHz wifi ap

2017-05-16, 17:41 PM

All-in-one device (switch, router, wifi ap, wideband modem) is used for internet and LAN access. Its wifi operates in 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. These two bands operate in sync, means if switched off then both, if switched on then both together.

ThinkPad T560 does not detect the 5Ghz AP. ThinkPad's wifi needs to be disabled for few seconds than enabled back (wifi applet in system tray) in order to see AP's also 5GHz band.

Where is the root cause?

ThinkPad has Intel dual band wireless AC 8260. All installed software + drivers should be up to date.
