I have been using T410 for 6 years and finally replaced it with a T570. I love the screen, but really hate the new keyboard. Seriously, I'm having physical pain in my right wrist now.
While I can't change the layout of the keyboard, I do notice that they keyboard has a "lighter" feel when typing. My wife has a T460 and the keyboard is far superior, in my opinion. I did a little bit Googling, and it seems, according to a Laptop Mag review, the T570 keyboard has a shorter travel (1.6mm, compared with 2mm on T470) and a lighter required actuation force (60 gram, compared to 70 gram on T470). I'm writing my dissertation on this machine, and I'm seriously thinking about getting an external keyboard. This keyboard is not comfortable at all. Who buys a T series for an inferior keyboard?
Why the difference, Lenovo? Is there a FRU keyboard that offers a 2mm travel and >60g required actuation force?
