T570 and ThinkVision X24 pro with USB-C will not connect

I have a T570 running Windows 10 64bit. (English) and aquired a nice Thinkvision X24 Pro monitor.

It's just that when the USB-C cable is connected (tried multiple cables) to the right USB-C port (or the left) the only thing that happens is that on the PC in devicemngr a root hub USB 3.0 is appearing - but nothing else.

There is no monitor being detected.  I've tried the monitor with display port on my old T450, and it works fine.

The onscreen display is being set to USB-C , doesn't matter if still set to DP port.

Tried installing the monitor drivers, updated Intel / thunderbolt software and installed latest bios from Update site.  Alas, to no resolve Smiley Sad

Any ideas greatly appreciated..
