I know I am behind the times using a Thinkpad T400 with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit but I am having a heck of a time using this machine as it constantly freezes up. I tried running the diagnostics and it failed on the SMART tests and did not complete the remainder of the tests ie video card, etc. The final result code was:
Does anybody know what this code means - how much trouble am I in and why is this machine freezing up all the time?

Normally Smart test failed comes under your Storage drive & it means your Hard drive is faulty or will fail in near future. Also system is lagging or freezing is clear indication of faulty Hard drive.
But still to be sure can you share the Diagnostics result here that will give much clear idea.

I re-ran the hardware scan as I cleaned some things and I got a different result code - W15QV4S28-8ZBU98. Is this also related to the possible faulty HDD. Is there any other
test that I can run to see a bit more information. I bought this refurbished T400 and I'm pretty concerned about the state this computer is in.
