hi, I'm using t420. I've replaced the HDD with a Crucial M4 SSD. I have some questions. The HDD will stop when a shock detected by TheThinkvantageActiveProtectionSystem. But now i'm using a SSD, I don't know that the Disk can be caused by stopping when a shock detected. Should I worry about it?

An SSD has no moving parts so there's no need to run APS. If you don't have any HDDs inside your T420, e.g. in the Ultrabay or mSATA, you can just uninstall APS altogether.

Are there even mSATA platter drives?
I have no idea. Despite that personal flaw, my assertion that "If you don't have any HDDs inside your T420, e.g. in the Ultrabay or mSATA, you can just uninstall APS altogether." remains true

SSDs are nearly mainstream these days. It would be great if Lenovo disable the feature automatically when the laptop doesn't contain a hard disk. This would be a smart feature, similar to powering off the CD-ROM drive when it's not in use or Microsoft disabling defrag on SSDs in Win8.

"e.g. in the Ultrabay or mSATA, you can just uninstall APS altogether."
I wouldn't say uninstall, just deactivate, the reason being - what if in the future you wanted/had to reinstall - just another "pain" to remember and then go through when re-adding a disc drive.

Note and Changelog information from the latest Active Protection System README file:
It looks like Lenovo have added more than just hard drive platter protection... specifically Intelligent Cooling - which is probably important for anyone with the newer super slim X1 models that tend to use a lot of CPU throttling to keep cool.
*4: This package should be installed for Intelligent Cooling.
<220.127.116.11> - [Important] Fixed an issue where the Intelligent Cooling function erroneously set the CPU to low power state or low clock speed on ThinkPad T550 and W550s.
