I don’t think so that the issue is with CPU fan. I think this could be issue with graphic chip or the system board got burnt. It would be better if you get it checked with the service center before doing any changes to the system.
Can you please confirm if the issue occurs when you connect external display (Monitor or TV).

Yes, the issue occurs when the external display is connected, but... It's connected almost all of the time.
It's large screen (2560x1440), so some operations can consume a lot of resources. As you know, I've started to monitor CPU temperatures, and... Full HD Youtube video maximised to full screen can bring CPU temperature up to 90C and more. (I didn't want to overheat it...)
Then fan is working all the time, even when laptop does nothing (0% CPU usage for longer time).
The flickering is certainly GPU problem, but... GPU is cooled with the same cooling system in T430 (AFAIK). So if the cooling system is failing, then these 2 errors (first flickering, now shutting down) can be caused by this one issue.

Yes, what you are thinking is also correct. But as per the link which you have provided I am thinking of GPU chip or the system board. You can also check with applying thermal paste for the heat-sink and check.
If possible you can also check with updating the system BIOS.
Hope this helps.
