ThinkPad T470P sim card tray won't open

I want to upgrade my laptop storage to SSD. As much as I know I should remover the sim card tray before opening the laptop's bottom cover. I tried to open the sim card tray using my phone sim ejection tool but I couldn't open that. I had the same experience with my father's ThinkPad X250. Both laptops don't have LTE module. Does sim card tray open on a laptop without LTE module? If yes, what am I doing wrong?!

Should I remove the aluminum label from the old HDD and attach it to the new SSD (Samsung 850 EVO)

Re: ThinkPad T470P sim card tray won't open

The tool to inject the sim holder (seems) should be a bit longer than you have. I use a sewing needle, its backside, as the paper clip might be bent.

You can open the tray any time.

I have m.2 SSD in T470p, but am sure the aluminium foil isn't needed for 2.5" SSD.
