Thinkpad Pro Docking station connected to external monitor out of Range on monitor

2015-04-15, 1:45 AM

To anyone, I have a new Thinkpad Pro Dock and a T440S. Connected an external Viewsonic monitor with a DVI cable to to dockstation. When I close the lid to the laptop the external monitor would only give me the resolution 640x480, on the forum I found that there was a firmware. I upgraded the firmware. Shutdown the laptop unplug the AC adapter and plugged everything back in. Now when I boot up the external monitor says out of range and black and the laptop screen is black and can't see anything.  If I unplug the laptop from the dock the laptop monitor screen comes back.

How do I fix this problem. I only have a DVI cable. I have Windows 7 64bit Pro. The firmware was gid638ww.exe

Hi Ipodtrip,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

Check uninstalling the graphic driver from the system, and use thinkvantage system update utility to update the drivers. Because this utility will search for exact drivers for your system.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar
