Thinkpad T400, Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN Adapter, and Cisco PEAP

2010-09-23, 8:10 AM

I have tried updating the driver several times.  I am at the most recent version of the driver, 13.3.0.24, and it is still not present as an option.  All I see is EAP-MSCHAPv2 and SmartCard or other certficate.  I do not have any of the Intel ProSet or ThinkAdvantage apps to manage wireless.  I tried to get rid of the vendor cruft.  Was that a mistake?

Yes, Alharaka. It appears you've uninstalled the Intel ProSet wifi software that enables the wifi card

you may have the wrong driver installed. Here is the one that looks correct for your PC. Intel Wireless WiMAX/WiFi 5150 and 5350 If you enter your Product Number HERE it should tell you what wireless device you have.

It's funny, but that was the obvious answer.  I was searching around for an unrelated issue and realized I never thanked you or confirmed it was indeed the additional software, not the driver with a standard INF install, was what I had missed.
