Thinkpad T420 Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 Issue

Hi There,

I am having a radio problem with the mentioned network adapter.

When I ran Access conection the Radio says that it is switched off and will not power on.

I have installed all sorts of different drivers at no avail.

I have also removed Access Connections and also ran a Wi-Fi Quick test and the Radio Enabled test failed. The result code is WWF00F001-UIUBQD.

I have checked the card cables and exhausted every possible solution on the web. I am no stuck so need specialist help!

Its a Thinkpad T420 - 4236 with Windows 8.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Access Connections is not supported under Windows 8, and that may be part of your problem!

Re: Thinkpad T420 Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 Issue

Doesn't matter whether it is supported or not, the card should still work with or without it as it would be accessible through Windows Network and Sharing Centre.

I didn't have AC installed to begin with, I installed it to have a look and uninstalled again.

AC is not part of the problem.

Just a few other thigns to add, I've checked that the card is enabled in BIOS and I have also checked the side radio switch to make sure it is not off. I can also confirm that the wireless light at the bottom right of the LCD (next to the HDD light) is on (goes off if I turn the radio off on the side).

Something to check if you haven't already:

Bring up Settings charm. At the bottom it says "Change PC Settings". That looks like the title of the settings above (to me) but it's a link. Click it. Then click "wireless" on the left.

Is there a wifi slider there?  How is it set?

Z.

Thanks for your reply.

It actually says "No wireless devices are available".

I think it is because I cannot see the device since the radio is not enabled/available.

Fascinating stuff this! I might swap the card out and see what I come up with.

Re: Thinkpad T420 Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 Issue

Hi, I upload the topic. I installed an intel 6235 centrino, with flash mod BIOS. But I can not work in any way the BT 4.0 that brings the card, or drivers or FN / F5, none of this works. The S/O its W10

Any ideas?

Thanks !!
