Hello.
I bought the smart card reader 04X5393 with cable 00JT989 and put it in my new T470s (20HG), now I see SCR in BIOS and it’s Enabled, but in Device Manager there is nothing.
Is there anyone who could help me?

Dear õun,
As I checked development team, ThinkPad BIOS detects smart card reader device existence by H/W method, not detect by USB interface. So, the most suspect reason why Device Manager cannot recognize the smat card reader is it may not be connected to USB port properly.

Hi,
can anybody tell me where to purchase the cable 00JT989 for T470S smart card reader.
After some searches in google, I found that this is a double cable used for both SCR and FPR, as per attached picture, but I have not been able to find it.

Finally I found the cable 00JT989 for T470S here:
I ordered it using this company as an intermediary:
I received it, and it looks good.

Rydeen, thanks!!! Yeah, I definitely do not see that anywhere in DEVICE MANAGER. I ordered another one and will check again. On another note, I do believe the ribbon cable from the finger print reader to the Smart Card Reader is good as the print reader works like a champ. Again, thanks for posting Rydeen.
