Thinkpad t450 says “ system security bottom cover tamper detected “

Then it says press esc to continue and goes to a screen asking for a password that gives three tries. I bought the computer used and the person said admin stuff was set to 000000 but that’s not working.

now I have a very expensive paper weight till I figure this out ?

how do I fix this ?

Re: Thinkpad t450 says “ system security bottom cover tamper detected “

If it is password protected, there is no backdoor or master password.  You either need the password or you need to replace the motherboard

pulling the cmos battery does not clear a BIOS password.  Flashing the BIIOS doesn't either
