Thinkpad t460p mini display stops working sometimes

Hi, I own a t460p which i alternatively use windows or GNU/Linux on. One thing though, many a times when i boot the laptop, the mini display port does not work. As in the screen does not detect any display. I usually use a 2 external screen setups. It is rather frustrating when this happens. I have changed the cables and screens in the beginning. But later realized it doesn't seem to be the screen.

This issue is quite weird, as sometimes i would boot it, and it will just work without problem. Most of the time it happens when I have not used the laptop for some days or if I have used it without dual monitors.

The following output might be helpful

me@thiruchendur:/var/log$ sudo lshw -C video

Re: Thinkpad t460p mini display stops working sometimes

How do you recover from a non working Display?  Does  uplug/plug  DP cable help?

You could try enabling the  boot time extension in UEFI. You'll find this option in Config -> Display

Re: Thinkpad t460p mini display stops working sometimes

Weirdly enough it started working again after a restart. I have restarted it multiple times yesterday but nothing.

Sometimes what i do is, I change the video memory from 256 to 512 on the bios, or 512 back to 256, this sometimes makes it work. But i have no idea why. It started working again today.

me@thiruchendur:~$ sudo lshw -C video
