I'm still unable to upgrade my laptop T500 to WIN 10 Creator 1703. The update systematically fails after reboot, with an error : error during SAFE_BOOT phasis : error 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 .
It seems that the problem is due to the graphic card RADEON HD3650.
There is no update for this card on Lenovo's support website and the Thinkpad T500 is even no more known so there is no possibility to get any updated driver for my laptop !!!
What can I do ? Is it possible toi replace this card in my laptop or is it full part of the mother card ?
Any idea, please let me know ...
Thanks for your help !

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.
Also as per AMD forums ATI RADEON HD 3650 doesn't meet the minimum requirements set by Microsoft for Windows 10 either.
Unlike Desktops Graphic cards are soldered on Motherboard in most of the laptops T500 is no different.
Note-Why don't you try updating Windows after disabling it from Device Manger
I hope the above information helped you.

Thank you for your reply.
I have tried with desactivating the graphic card, but it didn't work anyway.
I understand that the only solution is to buy a new laptop ?
I really wonder because my laptop is still working with WINDOWS 10 Professionnal since July 2016 and it's only now, with the 1703 version, that the upgrade fails, without any reason : after partial upgrade, the laptop reboots but stays with the Windows Logo and the "circle" turning without any progress even if I let it turn during many hours!
After manual shutdown pressing the power off button and restart, the sytem says the update could not be achieved because the laptop wasn't powered on and with the error message concerning the BOOT problem during SAFE_OS mode ... what does this message mean ? There's no relation with any driver's issue !!
I would also like to understand why the T500 is no more referenced in your support library, as I guess many other users still own this laptop and would be happy to find all latest drivers, Win7 or Win8 compatible !! That would be fine !

From where you are disabling the Graphic chip? And what's the source of update is it from Windows update, Upgrade Assistant Tool or Windows Media Creation Tool?
Also if system is configured with Broadcom Wifi driver you can disable that and check but IMO system is configured with Intel one.

I used the Windows media creator tools to obtain a downloaded folder on my hard disk (SSD disk, Crucial 500Go) so I haven't to download the whole thing each time I try an update.
Following your advice, I have disabled the Radeon Graphic card using via the BIOS, started the laptop and I saw the radeon card was no more present in the device manager's device list. The display is assumed by a windows standard adapter, but no graphic card declared in the device list. So I tried the WIN1703 update again, but it failed at the same level, so it seems that the graphic card is not the problem at all. It's really crazy !! What can I do ?
Just remember that there's no driver still available in Lenovo's support Library for this model of Laptop! Unbelievable !!!

There are drivers available. Its just that your laptop is EOL(end of Life) you can get it from Lenovo from the EOL portal.

Thanks for the link. It allowed to me to see that all my drivers were correctly updated.
Any way, in the mean time, I finally found the solution to the problem, coming from one device which has to be deactivated : PCI Device Intel Turbo memory Controler. Also deactivate the Radeon graphic card in the BIOS (In the BIOS, go to config, then Display, put "graphics device" to "integrated graphic" , and "OS detection" to "disabled".
After that, launch the WIN10 1703 (or 1709) update and everything goes well. After updating to the 1703 version, my laptop went automatically to the 1709 version without any problem.
Hope this will be usefull to other users ...

after nearly 1 week struggling I finally got my "dead" (EndOfLife) T500 to win10 1709, with Your help: removed graphics selection and ATI Radeon in BIOS, deleted IntelTurboMemory, ATI Radeon driver in Device Manager and temporarily no WIndows Defender nor Firewall and all but power and mouse connected (unhooked from MiniDock) . Upgrade to 1709 took about 1 hour to sign up and then less than 15min to sort all.

I'm happy to read that my solution suited to somebody else.
Just one precision for further users : No problem with Windows Defender and Firewall. There's no use to deactivate them.
Just change the display in BIOS as described above, and deactivate the Radeon driver and the Intel Turbo memory driver in the Device management tool.
Since I made these changes in december, no more problem for any additionnal upgrades !
