I have a Lenovo T420 notebook and wanted to know how and if it is possible to do some upgrades on the machine.
Currently the same is as follows,
Intel Core I3 2310M CPU 2.10GHz
8 Gb Ram
Windows 10 x64
I wanted to put an I5 - 520M processor (I already tested the pinout and it fits)
E Place 16 Gb of Ram.
Is it possible to do that? And how can I do this?
Thank you very much in advance,

T420 doesn't support 1st generation of Intel Core CPUs. Moreover, even if it would support it, installing i5-520M would be pointless, as it offers less performance than i3-2310M. Your current CPU supports up to 16GB RAM, so you can perform the upgrade. Please be aware, that integrated memory controller supports up to DDR3-1333, so there is no point in buying faster modules.
Please check Hardware Maintenance Manual for instructions.

You need a mobile CPU with a "2" in the 3rd position of its designation. 1X-2XXXm
