Upgrading a Thinkpad T430i Screen

Hello all,

I purchased a T430i recently, and I love it! However I did not opt to go with the higher resolution screen at the time of purchase, and I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade the screen? I have the manufacturer's manual on my hard drive, but how would I go about acquiring the actual parts?

Re: Upgrading a Thinkpad T430i Screen

you would need to call up Lenovo warranty service, they should able to furnish you with the actual parts requirements.

Re: Upgrading a Thinkpad T430i Screen

Hello bstamour,

I agree with lead_org, the service department should be able to furnish the required parts.  But If I were you I would either opt to send the computer in and change the screen or to take it to a Lenovo repair depot and have it switched there.

I am doing a little more research but if I am not mistaken, if you change the LCD screen out yourself it would void your warranty.  You can still do it, I just advise against it.  Might save you in the long run.  Smiley Wink

Anyway, I'm going to keep looking for this for you and will post something soon to let you know.

Hope this helps,
