Water spillage on Lenovo T420 keyboard

Hi guys,

I just spilled a glass of water on m Lenovo T420 laptop. I immediately turned it off and kept it upside down for a while and haven't turned it on for 8 hours now. Is there something I should do to avoid damage? E.g. how long should I wait and  should I do something to dry it more? Help appreciated!

Thanks,

Joel

Re: Water spillage on Lenovo T420 keyboard

Hi Lenoovoo,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I would rather that you remove the battery and take it to a service center for general cleaning informing them of the immediate concern about the water spill. Do not attempt to power it on as tools may be needed to safely dry it up internally avoiding other issues.

How to Locate a Repair Center or Service Provider

If you have such skill and tools then you can use the hardware manual here a reference guide.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
