Win 7 fails to boot ---T410i

after experiencing some issues with the HDD i changed it and replaced it with a new one. after i tried to install windows 7 and finish successfully but fails to boot displaying a blue screen.

what has been done:

1. i changed the HDD in another machine of the same kind and it booted well without any issues.

2. Installed XP on the 1st machine bt the curse cannot move.

please looking at what i have done is there anything i could have missed please advise.

Does booting from the rescue disk help?

1) Did you change the Bios settings to AHCI or compatible mode? AHCI is good with window 7

2) Is any of the HDD some new Western Digital HDD that is advanced format?

I'd definitely check the SATA setting. If you installed Windows 7 in AHCI mode, and switched to Compatibility mode, it will bluescreen on boot, and vice versa.

Re: Win 7 fails to boot ---T410i

i checked and installed in both options one at ago. in the AHCI it brings a windows boot error that windows encoutered errors and asks to restart the machine again.

Re: Win 7 fails to boot ---T410i

Now that's interesting.

1) Can you check if your HDD is GPT or MBT? Sometimes when you plug in a new HDD, the first question asked was whether you want to format it to GPT, if you did, then if you set the Bios to UEFI boot ONLY, then it will fail. I am guessing your HDD is MBT

2) You can go bios and set it to first check UEFI then boot using MBT (I forgot that term).....
