I've been stuck in some sort of Windows 10 Update hell for a couple of weeks.
The laptop is a T410 running an i5 CPU and Samsung SSD (128, I think). Originally running Windows 7 it was updated to Win10 Pro about 12 months ago, with no problems, and the updates have kept coming through easily since. However, the latest, the update to version 1709, has gone round in circles.
I'd get up in the morning to find the laptop stuck, unable to boot, with "Error 2100 HDD0 Unable to boot from any device" showing. As I'm a proper novice at all this, I took to watching the whole update sequence.
Win10 1709 would download OK, and the installation would start OK. However, when it gets to 13%, it tries to reboot the laptop, and at that point it all stops.
The laptop boots fine at all other times, regardless of how its been shutdown, but during the Win10 update, it just doesn't want to know it. I know its not a sparkling piece of kit, but it is entirely fit for purpose, and has been excellent until this point. In all other respects, the laptop works just fine.
