lenovo thinkpad t410

hi guys, i am a newbie in this forum. i have a lenovo thinkpad t410 that has real big issues n i cant afford a new laptop so i have to figure out how this works. to do this i need your help. can i charge the laptop battery using an external power supply and sort of like boost it cz its been flat for long. my charging circuit on the motherboard is not producing anything to the battery terminals and i intend to see if it powers up from a charged battery because the ac adapter is of no use here. thanks in advance.

Re: lenovo thinkpad t410

Hi Xinc,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with battery charging in your T410 laptop.

As you have mentioned that to charge the laptop from external power supply, please check the battery with other machine, also other battery in this machine this is to confirm the battery is working fine.

Also swap the adapter and check for the issue, confirm if any error on the screen when both battery and adapter are connected

Check if the charging port is damaged also check in different power supplies.

Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!

Best regards,

Re: lenovo thinkpad t410

i kinda boosted my battery n its back to life, giving m 10.8V as it should. But the major problem is that it doesnt power up at all. when i plug in battery it also doesnt show the charging light. i have used a Fluke multimeter to check if ther is any output from the charging circuit and i got very negligible values, around 0.001 to 0.006 of which i just think its the meter. can i troubleshoot my charging circuit on my own with your help
