replacing trackpad in 440p with trackpad+track buttons (or buttons only) from thinkpad 430

2014-05-14, 15:38 PM

does anybody know if it is possible to replace the new trackpad without physical buttons on thinkpad 440p with the trackpad + buttons, or buttons only (i do not care about touch pad functions)?

This would be the final best solution to the faulty design of 440p trackpad.!!!

thanks

Piotr

Re: Lenovo TS431 laptop track problems curser crazy

2015-01-25, 12:37 PM

The cursor problems developed after 6 mos. Random IE actions and popups delayed work flow and caused headaches. Barely left right keys co-operated. USB mouse solved the problem but not ideal as mouse after 1year died. Replacement quandry since if I upgrade to Windows 8 may not have usb mouse functionality as it demands a trackpad. Can't use wireless as I travel to locations without wifi and rely on a stick.

Questions: should I stay with 7 and old style plug in mouse

should I upgrade to 8 and look for a plug in track pad which is virtually buying more of what should have

come with the laptop. Namely a track pad that works.
