just unscrew the screw pointed by the red arrow in picture #4 and #5 and voila!

came across this in the hmm...and i believe it applies to the t410s and t410si as well

now i'm gonna get a express card 34 card reader that actually supports sdhc to replace this (i think it's supposed to support sdhc? but it doesn't recognise mine for some reason)

Does removing the card reader void warranty?

Re: t400s card reader actually an express card card reader!

simply removing it won't void the warranty as such.

Re: t400s card reader actually an express card card reader!

when a user (from another forum) asked the email support team in february, they insisted that this would void the warranty. in the end they told him to call the support hotline - but he didn't do this, which I can absolutely understand as far as the fees are concerned.

to be honest, I wouldn't get any help from the support team at all, since I'm currently not owner of any Lenovo product. I want to know about this issue anyway, because I won't buy a t400s with card reader, if I lose warranty removing only one screw and a simple expresscard...

Re: t400s card reader actually an express card card reader!

i don't know how the warranty people would know you actually ever removed the card reader. If you ever want to send the laptop, just put the express card back, they can't tell whether you actually ever removed the card reader.
