3 months ago I bought a t440p with 4700qm, nvidia gt730m, 8gb ram,...
I have windows 7 installed on it and it bothers me a little, that surface of the left side of keyboard and also whole mousepad gets pretty warm. It's not comfortable to type nor to work with mouse. I know, that proc is 47W and also nvidia is there to bring up the heat, but all I'm doing is browsing on the internet and I have the nvidia disabled in Control panel -> devices.
Is this normal? I've checked the temperature of the proc, and it's normal (around 52 - 56°C), but it's not normal to me, that the surface is so hot.
Anyone else also has this problem?

Actually on the both sides. It's a little bit more on the bottom. I think that components are fine, also processor is at normal temperature. But what really bothers me is this hot keyboard on the left side and cold on the right side.

I have been using T440P from last 2 months. On the left side of the keyboard it heats up and the temperature stays almost same or little more till evening. Office air conditional temp average 20 degrees but laptop is still hot.
I have irritation on my left hand while typing.
Any suggestion from Lenovo for this ?
Is it possible to get it tested or replace the ThinkPad ?

Which OS are you using?
well I've got rid of my problem. The issue was in operating system because of the lack of the drivers. Especially those for graphic card. When I installed the win 8 (which was on the recovery discs of lenovo) I got rid of the problem. Or, you can try with win 7 (which was preinstalled on your machine).

I think that's the problem right here. There are not any drivers for nvidia gt730m in linux environment and also intel 4600 is porly supported.
This could be a problem if heat is comming from the left side of the computer. If not, you have different problem.

Do you think the following driver will work
