A20p won´t boot

2008-06-10, 8:39 AM
Hello !

I have a problem with my notebook. In some cases it seems to work properly for about one hour. Then it crushes. After a new successful boot it crushes immediately. When i try to boot it one more time, the screen stays black and the pc doesn´t boot up.
I checked the pc with PC Check and some other programs, but it seems allright. I have no idea, I checked all removable hardware, but it also seems to be okay.  Does any one have an idea ?   Thanks for reading!       Greetings      Simon

Welcome to the forum!

In your case, I'd be suspicious of RAM and mini-PCI card. Is there any place that you could borrow a stick of RAM, completely removing any of your present ones, and see whether that makes a difference?

Mini-PCI card should also be removed within this experiment...

If none of these two turn out to be culprits, you're likely looking at a motherboard failure.

Good luck and let us know.
Cheers,

George
