Botched Restoration

2009-05-20, 23:02 PM

A couple of days ago my laptop got infected with a malware. IN attempt to get rid of it, I tried system restore. Somehow, i powered off my laptop while the restoration was on. Since then, when i switched it on again, it had lost a lot of files and does not seem to work right. I cannot access most of my files and internet explorer and most other programs. Even the antivirus does not seem to work. The malware, however, is still there.

I am wondering how to get my laptop back in order. Also is there anyway that i could retrieve all the files i have lost. I have some really important information on my laptop for which i do not have back-up.

Please help. Many thanks

Retriving all the files may depend on several things, try the avast home anti virus and do through scan... and use something called undelete to see whether there is files that is available for retrival. Once you backed it, you should do full factory restoration to totally remove the malware, note this is a full reformat of your hdd.
