Hi!

Welcome to the forums!

Could you provide more info on your machine? How much RAM, which SP running, if you've enabled hibernation in the power options, how much HDD space you have on your machine?

Important things to consider because there are various ways of dealing with such an issue.

Right,

Based on the info you supplied, there's one glaring issue that prevents you from using the hibernate feature successfully - the low disk space. Hibernation requires a minimum of 3GB (mostly 3.5GB as a minimum depending on what you're running - processes, etc).

Alas, one of the only ways to fix that is to upgrade to a larger capacity hard drive or remove some software to make space.

This helped me too

Thanks again for your help with this. I will try removing some software and make more space and see if it works. Thanks again...

Just as an aside,

You may also wish to reduce the size of the allocated virtual memory on your machine to make more room without sacrificing removal of software that you may need.

Right click "My Computer" on the desktop,  select "Properties", then click the "advaced" tab, then first button on top ("performance" ) , click "advanced" tab, then at the bottom you'll see "Virtual Memory" with a "Change" button. Click that, and reduce the "maximum size" allocated to be the same as the "initial size" and reduce the number of the "initial size" to half of what's listed currently.

 Reboot the machine.

That way, the machine will boot by allocating less hard drive space to the "Virtual memory" (or paging file), thus increasing the available amount of hard drive space by at least 1GB.  :smileywink:

Hope this helps

Just want to add that this still is a great tread.

Helped me a lot having the same problem (T61p XP SP3 - I had just about 3 GB of free RAM).

This was may first visit at the community, and I really like it, the friendly and helpful atmosphere and what a great repository it really is. :smileyhappy:

Just one more reason to stay with Lenovo, which I already like concerning the hardware:smileyhappy:

Kind Regards,
