Hello,

Not only have I left all of the stickers and labels on my ThinkPad, I have also created a few with a labeler using some white on transparent tape:
a label with the model and serial numbers on it above the keyboard (easier to get to if I need to make a service call)
a label with my name, phone number and email address on the bottom (helps identify my notebook if found)
a label with the ports listed on them to the left of the keyboard (T43p only, easier to plug things in)
The latter required trimming to get the label down to about 1/8th", and it works fine without getting in the way of anything.

Regards,

I just had to mention this. Below is my post to another thread addressing this:

Your complaint about the stickers are invalid. The stickers do not say the specififc OS name but whether or not it is certified for good performance with Aero. Basic means it meets the hardware requirements for Vista and Premium means the set of BASE hardware is certified for Aero. Since the base T61p model doesn't quite meet that spec, the T61p's don't come with one. As for the Centrino stickers, the same thing applies in a slightly different way. The ONLY Centrino stickers available are Centrino Pro or Duo. Duo goes for the current generation of Core and Core 2 Duo, including Santa Rosa and Penryn. A CENTRINO CORE 2 DUO STICKER DOESN'T EXIST. If you want it to look new, wait for the new Centrino 2 (Montevina) platform. So stop complaining about a STICKER. This post may seem harsh, but I just find people who obsess over such small details like this to be a little snobby, kind of like those self-important "don't you know who I am" business travellers who think they get priority over everybody just 'cause they think they are.

It seems a bit rude but remember its a reply to another person whose tone sounded kinda harsh for this type of "problem". Just thought I'd let you know that.

EDIT (forgot to say something related to the topic): I have no experience with Vista COA stickers but I definitely agree it would be a good idea to put the sticker under the battery.
