Hello,

Try downloading the following driver:

Name:  Ricoh Multi Card Reader Driver for Windows Vista, XP

Version:  3.54.02

Date:  06 Mar 2008

URLhttp://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=migr-68053

The drivers will extract to a directory named "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\4IN1\", if I recall correctly.  Once extracted, run Device Manager (filename: DEVMGMT.MSC), go to the entry where the unrecognized card reader is located, and perform an update, using the "Have Disk" option and pointing it to the directory in which the drivers were extracted.

I do not recall if a reboot is required, but in any case I would recommend doing one, at which point you should then be able to see the card reader from Windows 8.

Regards,

I notice you have edited the thread heading and your original question, this makes things difficult for other users to follow, for example my reply now seems unrelated to the current thread question, as this is a forum followed by lots of users I would advice against such use of editing threads and tittles the way you have done. no offence,
Cheers Paul :-)

I agree with paul, it's a very bad idea to remove info in a post that has been answered. It's really beyond annoying to read a thread that has been butchered like this and my first feeling was to just ignore and not try to help, but figured it would be better to reply and explain why this is a bad idea.

Regarding your ricoh card reader, there hasn't been any drivers for this since Vista, however you can use the vista drivers in win7 and perhaps win 8 too, if you extract the drivers but don't let windows install them, then go into device manager and update the drivers manually by pointing to the folders they were extracted to. With win7 there are three items usually listed as "base system device" or "unknown". Once the vista drivers are installed the device works properly in windows 7.

Windows 8 is not officially supported on this model and probably won't be from what I've heard.
