T61 XP crash when install Quadro NVS 140 driver

2009-02-25, 12:01 PM

Hi,

I'm trying to dual boot my T61 with Vista preinstalled. I got Windows XP sp1 successfully installed and dual boot works flawlessly. However, when I try to install the NVS 140 driver for XP from the Lenovo website, after restart the system cannot boot into XP and instead reports a hardware conflict issue.

It's definitely got to do with the graphics driver. Is it because I haven't updated the XP OS to sp2 and the driver was written for sp2 and above?

Sorry it's windows XP sp0 not sp1. My procedure is after installation of the XP OS, install ethernet driver and Thinkvantage system update and then use system update to automatically install other drivers. However, everytime the graphics driver is installed, the sytem can no longer boot into XP after restart.
