In my case bios update did NOT solve the problem, system still crashes with 4 gb but runs perfectly fine with 2 gb...

I am not really surprised that BIOS 2.09 isn't the magical bullet... its release date is 2007/12/27

only in the past few weeks Lenovo has been able to reproduce the issue.

Hi Guys,

I dont wanna let you down, but I already sent my BRAND NEW T61p 3 times back to lenovo and still getting blue screen...."...memory parity error...."

Now I am calling again, to ask them for my money back.
This was my first IBM (always had DELLs for work and Mac for personal use) and I am very disapointed.

I dont know if we are talking about the same issue, because I am not even trying to play.....my computer gets the blue screen in the middle of the day and I lose all my work.....

Any sugestions?? Im not gonna use for games....

Thanks a lot.

if you can live with just 2gb or ram, use only one DIMM instead of two and you'll be fine.

Yeah, the hopeful 2.09 BIOS did nothing for me.
I haven't had it do a hard reset yet though.
But I'm still having issues

Lenovo... I can't wait for you to find a solution to this because I can't live with 2GB of ram only.

I got my TP back this morning at 8:45.  See prev thread for problem desc/config.
Anyway it was the 2nd time in, this time I requested do not format HD, and don't return if it cant run 3dMark 03 and PC Vantage 2005.
Prev repair was new memory + bios update did not fix, system would shut down in secons of launching 3d mark.
This repair, planar board replaced + bios update, it now succesfully runs 3d mark03=13333 score
PC Vantage 2005 score 3376

Thanks Lenovo! Really wished it was fixed 1st time around though - So anyone with similar problems there is a fix.
Cheers - oh if it goes toes up - I'll repost

How long was your turn-around time on the planar board replacement?
What BIOS is currently on your machine?

Hi two days! Using a prepaid box from Lenovo, I sent it out Wed, got it this morning @ 8:45am - awsome job Lenovo.
BIOS - 12/06/2007, 2.07, 7LETA7WW

I did forget to turn Intel Turbo Cache back on, but remember it BSOD or turned off regardless of this setting.
The Lenovo guys are on top of this, my job number (fixed) was 7939171

Hmm... I already sent mine in once and all they did was replace the memory and back-date the BIOS. Which did fix it for those memory modules. However, that did NOT fix the issue at hand, because as soon as I upgraded to 4gb, it started doing it again.

Is that the exact same memory or did they change it?
