I sent mine out two days ago and I got it back today, they replaced the planner card and updated the Bios/Embedded Controller. I am going to try it when I get home from work and I will let you guys know how it went.

I received my notebook today after sending it in on Monday.
2x Lenovo provided fast and wonderful service.

They replaced the planar board, and all is good so far.

I'll report back later if anything else comes up.

Mark_Lenovo, do you have any updates?  I'm wondering if the fix is likely to require sending in the machine or if it's possible that it might be a software or other fix that doesn't require depot service.

I see Microsoft has a new driver update in windows updates on Vista Ultimate 32bit  for the Nvidia Quadro FX570M

I haven't tested to see if it resolved anything yet...still running on 2gb of RAM instead of 4gb.

Mine came back dead. I called them up and they said I have to try and discharge it or something, which I haven't had time to do. So hopefully that will work but I might have to send it back... and there are screws missing which is lame.

If that ain't a poptartkiller I don't know what is. Regardless of the type of problem or circumstance all repairs should be QA tested prior to shipment. Including a check list for missing items.
It's impossible for it to have issues due to shipping (unless it wasn't reassembled correctly).
I'm so sad now my face is leaking, bender's going to rust.

Bender,

The laptop came back (like I said before), and they replaced the planar board.
Mark was very helpful in this process. More so than the person on the phone.
They didn't even want me to send my notebook in with my 4GB of memory which I bought afterwards.
But Mark was very helpful in this entire process. He even called me to verify that some information.

After having it since Friday I haven't had any crashes whatsoever in Crysis or Bioshock. Both DirectX 10 games that wouldn't even get into the menu before crashing with two sticks of memory in there with the old planar board.

All the screws were in place when I got it back and everything has been working great.
They even sealed it in a plastic bag.

I'm not sure where some of you are sending your notebooks, but the place I've been sending it I've had nothing but good luck.
Perhaps I'm just lucky... :smileyvery-happy:

Bottom line, if you can wait a week, and your laptop crashes with two sticks of memory I'd send it in explaining exactly that.
That being said I'm not responsible for damaged notebooks like others have mentioned here.

Whoo hoo! Now that's what I'm talking about.  Really wished Poptartkiller got the same service. Hopefully it will get resolved asap.  Maybe a little proactive action is due here.  A little one on one with poptart initiated by Lenovo might just go a long way...
Just a thought :smileywink:
