T61p laptops with Vista x64 & 4965AGN adapters upgraded to 4/6/2009 driver, now won't wake up

2009-04-07, 19:12 PM

2 T61p laptops with Vista x64 Intel 4965AGN adapters upgraded to new 4/6/2009 12.04.0000 driver, now won't wake up

The laptops work fine, connection strength good, speed of downloads from LAN good, 802.11n mode working.

But, now if I let them suspend, or merely close the lid and re-open it, even with the power profile set to "do nothing" when closing the lid, can't wake the laptops back up.

Fn alone doesn't work because the laptop is sort of awake (fan blowing, CPU running, backlight off though, and not on LAN and won't respond to ping).  Fn+F3 doesn't work, won't wake screen,  Fn+F4 to suspend ignored as well,  Only option is to forcibly power down thru holding down power switch until power goes off, then powering back up again.

Any ideas?  I realize I can go back to an old driver, but I'd prefer to stick with this release, particular to fix what the "summary of changes" section says on the driver website:

(Fix) Fixed an issue where connection randomly dropped

Here's the driver download,:

FYI, this same driver works fine on T60 with Vista x86 and W700 with Vista x64, only the T61p laptops have issues with this driver.

Wow!  I didn't even know there was a driver update, since Lenovo so kindly disabled System Update... I will try it on Vista 32 T61p and report back...
