Here is an exerpt from a pm I sent to Mark.

I have called 2x in one day and have been given two completely different and contradictory order statuses. Multiple calls throughout the week will return different answers which logically don't make sense. I am not able to speak to a supervisor for bogus reasons. The website still says laptops will ship in 1-2 weeks. 1-2? Is that a joke? Why does it STILL say this? If Lenovo is cares and knows about the problem, wouldn't they change it to reflect reality?

On top of everything else, if/when I do receive my laptop judging from this forum, I will get BSOD errors and crashes every time I try to run a graphically intensive program. That is too bad considering that will be the laptops primary purpose (design). I will be running 3D rendering programs, autocad, etc. I’m sure it’s covered by Lenovos warranty but with 3 months left in the semester do I have time to wait what will surely be a month or more for it to arrive back from service? Fantastic.

I don't blame Mark (the messanger). I am just fed up with the delays, misinformation, lack of transparency, indifference and second rate service that I and other Canadian customers have received from Lenovo.

I just called Lenovo sales as Mark suggests I do because they will apparently compensate me for waiting.  My order is going to arrive MAYBE on Febuary 4th. Yes, it is official; I am waiting over a month to get my order from a website that promises it in 1-2 weeks. Here is the best part: Not only do they not have a tracking number for it, but since it has already shipped from the warehouse they don't give a **bleep**. No compensation. I could not hate Lenovo more. At all. Possibly.

I ordered a T61p with XP Pro on 1/22/2008. It shipped from China on 1/23/2008, arrived in Louisville, KY on 1/26.  Has been "Held by Brokerage" since that time.  Scheduled to deliver on 1/31/2008.  This certainly exceeds my expectations.

wow I guess you are lucky since only take less than 2 weeks to get your laptop Brian.

Do you think this delay problem is for every one order from Canada or only for us? since when I spoke to Lenovo CS, they said if all the parts are avaliable than the order should not have any problem, is this right ?

I don't know if I have just been lucky.  I ordered my daughters T61p with the DVD burner in September and the web site indicated "long delay" for the DVD Burner.  We did not need it quickly, so we ordered it with the DVD burner.  It was also delivered in about 2 weeks.  Brian

Delays only effect the less important customers (Canadians).

(I specifically did not order the dvd burner as to not delay my order. A lot of good that did me. Thanks lenovo!)

Have not received it yet. Ordered it January 2nd... If I believe what CS says, the earliest I can expect to see it is February 4th. My bet is it will take longer. I'll let you know when it gets here... if it gets here...

I did exactly the same thing--specifically didn't order the dvd burner to avoid a "3-4 week wait" for delivery. Now I'm kind of ticked b/c it took more than four weeks anyway . . . I'd gladly put my cd-rw drive in a box, send it back, and ante up the $ difference for a dvd burner at this point. Come to think of it, I'm going to call Customer Service and see what they can do for me. Given that they blew the 2 week shipping time waaaaay out of the water, I figure they kind of owe me.

I guess DVD writer did not make any difference at all after all.

I am going to cancel my order tomorrow  since I 99% I won’t get it before my vacation  ( febuary 28)

This forum really helps me to consider my plan b (Dell M1330). I am going to get my first IBM laptop when Lenovo service getting better. If I do have time to wait may be it will be worth to wait for T61.
