Thinkpad T61 defective keyboard how to

2008-07-31, 7:51 AM

Hi, I purchased T61 three months ago. Even though Thinkpad is perceived as having the best keyboard, my key G is already starting to fail. After only 3 months!!! (Oh, together with this and other problems, this laptop is my worst experience ever. :smileysad:) I really have to press the key G hard some times because it misses when typing. Anyone has any experience with fixing this? Is it possible to fix malfunctioning keyboard key at home, or would the whole keyboard have to be replaced?

If your Thinkpad is still in warranty give Lenovo a call and they will send out a new keyboard for free. They will include instructions on how to chance it. It is fairly easy to change.
