Wireless issues

2008-12-08, 5:50 AM

I have a problem with my wirless network card. For some reason it likes to turn itself completely off at random times. This usually occurs when I am trying to access the network at my library. It is a horrible connection to begin with but it causes my card to turn completely off. I have not had a problem on my home network with the card turning off. I don't understand why this would happen.  A loss of connection is one thing but causing my network card to shutdown is another. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Praetor, you gotta give us a bit more to chew on.

What kind of wireless card do you have? Latest drivers?

Are you using Access Connectins or Windows to handle your wireless connections? What version?

Do you know the kind of router or connection your library is using?

We can't offer more helpful advice without specifics to go on....
