t60/p SATA 3.0 to SATA 1.5

2012-09-07, 20:24 PM

Greetings All Experts;

  Was just curious if I purchased a WD SATA II drive, could it be able to run at SATA I level in a t60/p 8741. Would the BIOS even recognize it ? Size is 160GB. All info appreciated.

Sincerely,

Donald

You should have no problem with any SATA 1, 2 or 3 drive upto at least 750gb. I know others who have used 1tb drives without a problem, but the largest I personally have used is 750.

As others have said there will be no problems. I've used WD (and other makes) of both HDD and SSD SATA-II drives in T and X 60-series ThinkPads.
