I have a Thinkpad T61P, it comes with 160G 7200rmp hard drive.
1. I want to have a larger hard drive, what are some good hard drives that recommend?
2. When I replace the old hard drive, how could I install the windows on the new hard drive. My laptop did not come with a recovery disc. Can I create a recovery disc by myself by using the default program?
3. As I know, there is a hidden portion on the old hard drive. Updating harddrive, it will damage the hidden portion? Can I make a hidden portion on new hard drive and copy the hidden portion files to the new hard drive?
This is my first time to upgrading my Thinkpad, Please give me help in details! Forgive me if my question is silly.^_^

Welcome to the forum!
You can create your own recovery media from the original hard drive.
You can also clone your current hard drive onto the new one using Acronis True Image software.
Any SATA laptop hard drive in the 2.5" (9.5 mm) will work, my personal preference would be Seagate 320GB/7200rpm, but to each his/hers own.
Hope this helps.

If I want to get the new recovery discs from lenovo, what should I do?
Phone Lenovo support and order them. Cost is ~US$50. If your system is relatively new and under warranty, you've suffered a HD failure so that you can neither restore from R&R or burn your own discs then they may even send them to you for free.
