Can't restore hardrive in rescue and recovery

I tried to restore my harddrive by using the f11 key at the start up and when I get to rescue and recovery and hit full restore it says "preparing hardrive" and then says "%s failed to restore your system." I then hit ok and it stays at rescue and recovery forcing me to restart which sends me right back to rescue and recovery. I can't get back to normal startup or restore my harddrive. Should I just buy a new hardrive? any thing will help

Re: Can't restore hardrive in rescue and recovery

which Thinkpad model do you have? You can run a hdd diagnostic from the BIOS, if it passes then your hdd should be fine, and it is more to do with the softwares on the hdd.

Re: Can't restore hardrive in rescue and recovery

There is an option for the HDD diagnostic in the bios, if you need to check your graphics card then you would need the following program.
