Custom battery charge threshold recommendation setting

2018-02-25, 1:54 AM

Hi, this is the first that I use the Lenovo laptop. I found out a very useful function is "Battery Charge Threshold" which many users talk about it in Lenovo Vantage. But I have a question that does anybody have any idea about the recommendation of  Battery Charge Threshold setting values.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

To extend the life of your battery set the Stop Charging threshold to 60% to 65% and the Start Recharging threshold to at least 40%. This works well when the ThinkPad runs off AC mains most of the time.

If that doesn't give you enough usage time on a battery charge then set the Stop threshold as high as 80%  and the Start threshold to at least 20%.

Keep in mind that all batteries do deteriorate with time. There are no settings that will make your battery last forever.

A little more info would help, like what model and how you use the machine.
