so which laptop do you have exactly? T60p or T61p? You still haven't made it clear as to which laptop you actually have.
If its the T61p, then it maybe due to the faulty T61p nvidia GPU bump material got reflowed due to the overheating.

so which laptop do you have exactly?
If you'd be so kind as to post the model type number (7 digits XXXX-YYY from label on the ThinkPad's bottom side) we can clear up this mystery.

you need to seek warranty service on the laptop, there is nothing we can do for your hardware problem, since you won't be able to fix it yourself.

Thank you so much for this advice! While I have a different model number, this RAM trick worked for me. It allowed me to enter the Recovery Environment so I could troubleshoot and do a System Restore.

The battery light doesn't stay on. It may have a short. Pull it out and try again

Actually, my ThinkPad T60 is being powered by the AC Adapter only and there is no external battery plugged in. Also, I have tried to remove all power sources and held the power button down for 1 minute and reattach the AC Adapter. However, my ThinkPad T60 still does not power on.
