This user updateed the bios to 2.29-1.08 version from bootable iso and installed Win 7 x64 on SSD Crucial M4. His Sequential Read is 254.880 MB/s.
Is this possible that T61 still not support SATA 2?

You need a modded BIOS to enable SATA 3.0 in T61/p.

That is the modded (Middleton's) BIOS.

I have upgraded my Thinkpad T61p-6457 to Windows 7 pro x64, running 8GB ram and 120 GB Crucial M500 SSD.
The Bios currently running is 7LETC9WW (2.29) - 18/3/2011.
I followed the instruction posted on the internet to make middelton bootup CD - when i pressed the blue thinkvantage button and F12 it read the CD but the when onto loaded Windows as usual. Please explain what to do, in order to upload the new BIOS to enable SATA 3 speeds.

You need to burn the ISO file in a CD, depending on the software you use you will have to check for a "burn ISO image" option or similar. (You are not just copying the ISO file and burn it by chance, do you?)
Also keep in mind that this BIOS will enable SATA-2 speeds, not SATA 3
Hope this helps...
