Freezing and Error Code 0000

When I leave my T61 thinkpad alone for more than an hour, it freezes. I can still usually move the mouse around, but as soon as I click on anything it freezes up, and anything else I try to click on is unresponsive. If the screen has shut off, then it will not come back on if I have left it for over an hour. The only thing I can do is hold the power button until the system shuts down, and then boot back up again.

My computer does not have any problems while I am using it. It is quick, and all my programs work flawlessly. I have a 80GB Harddrive that is partitioned into a 20GB section that runs vista and a few other program, and a 60GB section that I save everything else to and run the rest of the programs from. I have an Intel core 2 Duo CPU T7300 with 2 GB of ram.

I ran the HDD diagnostic and got: "Pass Controller Diag" and "Error Code 0000: Read verification failed." I'm not sure if that is related to my computer feezing.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The error code you've received indicates the beginning of a hard drive failure. Backup your stuff and call Lenovo to get a replacement drive if the machine is still under warranty.

i bought a T61 2gigs..dual core....vista basic was removed and XP installed...i'm having the same mouse freeze problem
