[HELP] T43 Bios Supervisor

Hey guys,

first of all, sorry for my bad english, i'm french (sorry again for that >< )

i have buy a thinkpad last year. the model is a thinkpad T43 1871 FxxxAG. (the forum think it's a insult.. remove the xxx)

when i have buy this computer i have put a password in the bios for no one cant change anything.. (safety reason)

i still have my password, but when i want to go in the bios, i only loggin in User mode and not Super User mode.

so i can see what is configure, but can't change enything.. this is really a problem for me..

i was thinking maybe they have a combinasion of touch to made like ctrl+F1 to go in super user mode or something like that ??

thanks for helping guy's

regard, BM

Re: [HELP] Bios super-user

Opps,  I asked the same question.  My search of the forum for "T43 supervisor" did not turn up this posting.

I hope someone helps us.

Thanks.

Re: [HELP] Bios super-user

If you know your Supervisor password, start right there, in BIOS under Security.

There is no "trick" to log one way or another, nor has there ever been one.

Good luck.

Cheers,

George

Re: [HELP] Bios super-user

Sorry, Nothing useful there.  Under Security/Password I have:

Using Passphrase -Current setting: Disabled

Supervisor Password: Enabled

Lock BIOS Settings - Current Setting Disabled

Set Min Length  - Current setting Disabled

Power-on Password: Disabled

HD1 Password :User+Master    ( A setting I can change)

Require PW after Hibernation: Enabled.   ( A setting I can change)

Here are the exact steps I use:

Power on Laptop.

Press F1 to enter BIOS.

Swipe my fingerprint - it's OK.

Get icon of PC and lock icon. I press enter (the password). and get an "OK"

BIOS comes up in User mode.

I've also tried it this way;

Power on Laptop.

Press F1 to enter BIOS.

Press ESC to skip finger print check

Get icon of PC and lock icon. I press enter (the password). and get an "OK"

HDD Icon and Lock icon appear.  I enter 6 char HDD password and get an "OK"

BIOS comes up in User mode.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

BIll C.

I have also withdrawn my other post since it was a duplicate.

Re: [HELP] T43 Bios Supervisor

You will need to enter the supervisor password as suggested by ajkula66, as he also says there is no workaround.
