Yes, it is. It's just branded under a different name.

Re: Is T61 e-SATA capable

Seeing a bunch of notices that people have been replying to this thread got my hopes up. Alas, it seems we are still in the same boat.

Don't be a stranger Lenovo, at least let your customers know what is going on.

Re: Is T61 e-SATA capable

Thank you NIXin,

my is the same, so I think my T61p is defected or the card is defected, because T61p don't identify the card in correct way during startup - don't read extended ROM.

Can you confirm that your T61p reads extended ROM content?

Re: Is T61 e-SATA capable

I guess I am new to this problem thanks to purchasing a new solid state drive.  I am getting barely 10 MB/sec on a INIC 1620 hooked up to a T61P.  After reading about the ridiculous cap put on our SATAII connector, I now find that my ESATA PC Card speed is crippled even more severly.

Has anyone seen any answers from Lenovo on this issue yet?

Please help if you have any information.  I am running the most recent BIOS and windows 7 64bit.

Re: Is T61 e-SATA capable

This problem has not been solved by BIOS upgrades 2.19 or 2.25 for a T61p.

I am still waiting for an answer!

I just wonder anyone has managed to fix the issue on X61T?

(sorry for the necro-post)

//edit: This was fixed in BIOS 1.22:

Version 7SET36WW (1.22)
BIOS: 1.22 / ECP: 1.02

(New) Added PCI Express Power Management disabling capability in BIOS setup.
(Fix) Boot priority order does not work on selecting AMT remote console.
(Fix) Windows XP installation may stop responding on the way.
(Fix) System reboot should be done for all Physical Presence I/F command execution.
(Fix) The computer with Smart Card Reader resumes normal operation from sleep state unexpectedly.
(Fix) The computer with RICOH CardBus Controller has slow data transfer performance.

I've flashed the new BIOS and now I get 30MB/s read / 23MB/s write speeds on the CardBus Gigabit Ethernet card over NetBIOS). Before the BIOS update, the speeds were around 10MB/s for both read and write. The Ethernet card can perform even faster than that (40MB/s read, 30MB/s write), but overall, I'm satisfied with the results and I'm glad that Lenovo fixed this.

What's DOS?

Re: Is T61 e-SATA capable

Haha,  I think I will be the latest one to report this problem.

I plan to use my old T61 as a media player, and buy a PCMCIA to e-sata port.  With v2.30 BIOS, I get a steady 13MB/s speed.  I try to google the solvation, and find this post.

Re: Is T61 e-SATA capable

Hi everybody.

I'm expecting this card to drop in my mailbox any day now.

I'll do some tests and report back some findings, if anyone is really interested in speeds.
