Memory Parity Error ????

Thinkpad T60P   2613 CTO

Been getting this blue screen error:

*** Hardware malfunction

Call your hardware vendor vendor for support

NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

*** The system has halted ***

I have tried removing and re-seating my RAM memory modules (2x1GB).  Not even sure if this a RAM memory error?

ideas?

1. It could be a RAM error. Try running the T60p with only one 1GB RAM module. If you get a BSOD then swap with the other module.

2. It could be a RAM error in your graphics chip (ATI Radeon.) In that case I think you're looking at a new motherboard.

3. It could be a software issue. See this older thread: Hardware malfunction: Memory Parity Error

for suggestions.

4. Try running system diagnostics, e.g. PC-Doctor that came with the T60p.

Re: Memory Parity Error ????

Strangely enough, some people have gotten rid of this error by swapping the Intel 3945ABG card for an Atheros-chipped one...

Re: Memory Parity Error ????

Problem solved.

I updated the drivers for the wireless LAN network card.  Went from BSOD 5-plus  times a day  to not once at all in 2 weeks.
