Need Hardware Maintenance Diskette (HMD) 1.73 or later for T61

Hi Guys and Gals,

I've never had any issues with my T61 so I never joined the forum til now...  I'm a student, and at the end of last semester, which ended mid-december, my motherboard decided to peace out.  I grabbed a new one from eBay for roughly $260us, then painstakingly installed the bloody thing.  

Everything works fine however, I'm in need of the Hardware Maintenance Diskette (HMD) version 1.73 or later as my Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) points out on page 58, so that I can update the model and serial in the BIOS, which will alow my system update to work without me having to manually change the registry keys (currently, the DSDT, FADT, and RSDT keys say: TPL_-____, instead of saying 7658CTO).  

I'm not a moron, I have done my research and corrected everything thus far.  By digging on the web, I found 1.60 and 1.72, but they are useless to me.  I've even tried every last link I could find (even the ones on IBM's ftp), but they're all dead, heck I even tried most offshore sites but kept getting stuck in china...  Can anyone help?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the reference to the Maintenance Disk in the HMM if for authorized service technicians only.

The Maintenance Disk is highly confidential and not intended for the average consumer.  I realize that you can probably find a copy leaked out to the web.....but those individuals are subject to prosecution as well as persons who download and distribute the software.

Your only option legally is to call Lenovo or an authorized servicer and have them run the utility on your system.

Icepick was clear about the confidentiality of the Maintenance Disk, and the Community Rules are quite specific  about exchange of information that will aid illegal activities, so I'm locking this thread.
