Sierra Wireless Driver Problem

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my T60.

I have downloaded and installed every recommended driver, for Windows and Thinkpad, and I continue to get a "found nerw hardware" warning.

I can not get any driver to work, and uninstalling the device didn't work...it just keeps coming back.

What can I do to get this problem to go away?

Thank you

John

Re: Sierra Wireless Driver Problem

P.S. I failed to state that is the Sierra Wireless MC5720 device that is causing trouble.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Sierra Wireless Driver Problem

I believe this is a mobile broadband card, if you don't use it, it can be removed, or if you want it to work, try going to the manufactures website and downloading the drivers for the device. This would be a good place to begin... http://www.sierrawireless.com/en/Support/Downloads.aspx

Re: Sierra Wireless Driver Problem

Hello,

Have you installed and run Lenovo's ThinkVantage System Update software?  If so, did that find and install any missing ThinkPad-specific drivers or software?

Regards,

Re: Sierra Wireless Driver Problem

I did install all of the files recommended by the Thinkvantage system. I found the problem. That driver doesn't install automatically like all of the Thinkvantage software. This one requires that you track down the install folder, and then run a file that gets stored there. After that is loaded it works fine. I'm unclear what that Sierra wireless driver does anyway. My wireless system was working fine without it. Thanks for your help. John

Re: Sierra Wireless Driver Problem

You have solved this trouble? Device manager of my T60p Sierra Wireless MC5720 shows "This device cannot start (Code 10)"
