I have a T23 that I have done a reinstall of the operating system, XP Pro. I am having difficulty with the built in wireless driver, the driver does not appear to be loading 90% of the time, yellow exclamation mark in the device manager. Occassionally it will load OK and run fine for several days.
I have updated the Bios, loaded the latest driver for the built in ethernet, built in wireless, embedded controller, etc. All to no avail.
I borrowed a PC card wireless card and it works fine.

According to IBM, your T23 doesn't have integrated wireless...do you have an external card, PCMCIA or USB?

Bumping this thread years later! I'm now experiencing the same issue and I'm bumping this because there was never a solution posted here. I have a ThinkPad T23 that I still use for simple web browsing/checking email. Everything was working fine until I decided to reformat the laptop. I reinstalled the same OS as well (XP Pro) and didn't change any settings-- I just wanted a fresh install.
After reformatting, it sometimes does not detect the driver for the IBM High Rate Wireless Lan MiniPCI Combo Card. Note again that before the reformat, it always loaded and connected to networks via wireless flawlessly. Now, it only does so sometimes.
YES, I have updated the firmware for the BIOS and Card and have the latest drivers installed.
