I recently purchased a T30 without the HDD. I bought a HDD and a Caddy - but am not sure how to put this Caddy on the HDD.
I have one large screw and 4 HDD screws.

It looks like the cage goes around the drive and attached with the 4 smaller screws. The large screw is used to hold in the plastic 'shield' and screws into the notebook case.

FYI- I have the HDD connected to the Caddy with the four screws.
The part I am not getting is this:
How do I initially connect the plastic piece to the Caddy - in order to insert it into the bay I have to be able to push it in or pull it out with the plastic piece intact. The plastic piece is not intact.

Hard drive installation movie.
Hard drive installation instructions. If the HD drive cover is damaged, you'll have to get a replacement from IBM/Lenovo or eBay, part number 46L4795.

Ahemmmmm. I am feeling 100% dumbed down now.
What I really need to know is how to get the cover to work with the caddy and HDD intact? Nobody seems to understand my current dilemma!!! <sigh>

I am sorry to report that the two screws do not remain stable for the caddy head to snap over these screws. Do you have a picture so that I can view this? I can assure you that I am technically savvy. Any and all explanations on how to get this caddy to slip into the HDD bay would be very appreciated since I just replaced the mobo in this particular system but appear to be a dunce with this caddy deal.
TIA

Hopefully this site will help you.
The screws hold the drive in the caddy from the sides, the cover just clicks over the rear screw heads.

I already posted that link Andy and apprently it didn't help.
Shekerra, can you explain what you mean by the screws not being stable? Are they too long?
